Coach Strickland has a BS in Health and Physical Education and has been teaching and coaching for the past 28 years. He attended North Cobb High School, where he competed in both baseball and football. Coach Strickland went on and continued his baseball career at Kennesaw State University. He has been teaching in the field of Special Education for over a decade. In his teaching and coaching tenure, he has spent years at North Cobb, Osborne, Rockmart (Head baseball coach), South Cobb and Alexander High Schools. Coach Strick was part of the original teaching staff, who opened Allatoona High School in 2008, and has served as a baseball assistant all seasons. He has coached fast pitch softball for eight years at the high school level and is currently an assistant coach for his daughter’s travel team (Atlanta Vipers ’05 Tamborra). In the fall of 2020, he took over as the Head Coach of the Allatoona Softball team.

Coach Strickland is married to Lori Strickland, and has five children: his son Casey, and his four daughters, Faith, Maci, Lyla Brooke, and Kylee. Coach Strickland’s mentors are Baseball Head Coach Keith Hansen, Ed Wood, and his own father, and his favorite quote that he finds inspirational is from Sparky Anderson, who said, “Success isn’t something that just happens. Success is learned, success is practice, and then it is shared.”
