Coach Moffatt has a B.S. in Journalism and Public Relations, and has been coaching for twelve years, all of them at Allatoona High School.  He is currently the VP of Sales for the South Region of Essity – Personal Hygiene, North America.  In high school, he competed in football, baseball, and track and field.  He continued to compete in track and field in college, graduating from Arkansas State University in 1984.  For Pole Vault, he was two-time indoor All-Southland Conference Team with a personal best of 17’00”.  Since coaching the pole vault here at Allatoona, there have been six individual state champions, nine region champions, and twenty state qualifiers.

Coach Moffatt is married to Beth Moffatt, and they have two daughters. Laura is a 2010 graduate of Cornerstone Prep and a former University of Georgia Gymnastics All-American. Elise is a 2013 Allatoona graduate and current Jr. Bucs Cross Country Head Coach and Bucs Track and Field Community Coach. She was a two-time state champion pole vaulter at Allatoona and two-time outdoor Big South Conference Champion in the pole vault for Gardner-Webb University. As mentors, Coach Moffatt looks up to his high school coach, Bobby Richardson, and his college coach, Guy Kochel at Arkansas State.  He finds inspiration from the following quotations:
